Teófilo Galán Ulla was born in Madrid in 1935; he is an Impressionist painter who found in Tenerife the light and tranquillity he needed to bring his art to life.
After training in Madrid, Barcelona, Munich and Stockholm, he discovered the Canary Islands, particularly Tenerife, a constantly changing landscape where nature and the people became his subjects.
His painting is an ode to beauty, serenity and the transience of light.

For Teofilo Galán Ulla, Tenerife marked a new phase in his life that left a lasting imprint on his career as a painter.
From that point onwards, all his work has been influenced in some way by Tenerife, its natural landscape and its people; and although his works are not limited to island themes, there is no denying that these form the bulk of his artistic output.
Nor should it be forgotten that, as a plein air painter, Teofilo Galán Ulla has admirably captured the landscapes and the magic of nature.
